Brian Eno Encourages Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to send a cultural melody to the Christmas number one spot. The campaign seeks to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Unity and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it doesn’t, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the reimagining of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to scheduling overruns.

The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a group of talented individuals. The single features a fusion of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a figure commented. “We will pursue as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the region was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make that much difference. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and showing there’s another side to the story.”

The song is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a digital service from later in the month.
