Former US treasury secretary Larry Summers is leaving the board at the ChatGPT creator, just a week after a batch of electronic messages between him and deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein became widely known.
The economist commented in an announcement that he was "thankful for the opportunity to have participated, enthusiastic about the promise of the organization, and anticipate observing their development".
Summers, who formerly presided over the prestigious university, declared on recently that he would be stepping back from public roles due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein.

The recently released communications revealed that the economist exchanged messages with Jeffrey Epstein until the eve of Epstein's 2019 apprehension for accused sex trafficking of minors.
In another announcement, the technology organization expressed it respected his determination to resign.

This development comes after the two houses of the legislative branch voted on Tuesday to approve a bill that would require the US justice department to disclose its documents on Epstein.
The bill will afterward proceed to the desk of President Trump for signature. He has said he plans to sign the legislation, after modifying his position on the matter following pressure from his base.
