The loved ones of teens lost after a devastating fire at a establishment in a Switzerland's ski resort are enduring an excruciating wait for official news and appealing for information about their loved ones via social media.

The blaze engulfed the a popular bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Circulated images show the ceiling being engulfed in flames as bottles with fireworks are raised in celebration.

Officials have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of 40 people and hurt another over a hundred. Officials stated on the latest update that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with the process ongoing to identify the remaining few.
