Pat Bamford Joins the Blades After Leading Derogatory Songs Targeting Manager Wilder

The striker has signed with the Championship side just half a year following starting disrespectful songs targeting the team's coach, Chris Wilder.

This experienced forward, without a club since leaving Leeds United, has signed a contract joining the second-tier strugglers until January. Bamford's lengthy career with Leeds concluded by mutual consent in August.

One of the player's last memorable actions while at Leeds included starting insulting chants about Chris Wilder amid Leeds' promotion party in April. Now, the former England international will feature under Wilder as the Blades’ manager aims to pull the team he loves away from the bottom places.

Previous Conflict Involving the Striker and Wilder

Both men had previous conflict before Leeds won promotion back to the Premier League last season and United lost the promotion decider by Sunderland. Wilder described the forward as a "muppet" back when the situation was different in 2018-19 and Sheffield United won direct promotion whereas Leeds missed out in the playoffs.

Making Amends and Looking Ahead

Everything appears has been resolved with Sheffield United, the league's lowest scorers, in desperate need of improvement in attack while Bamford hoping to revive his career.

The song about Wilder gained traction this spring. An apologetic Patrick and the Leeds manager, Farke, phoned Wilder the following day.

Wilder commented at the time: “Spoke with Patrick recently and I’ve no problem at all with that. I'm uncertain about the language from a fellow pro! But I valued and admired him calling me.

“We had 20 minutes and similarly I spoke to Daniel too and had a half-hour chat together and he's a great person, a class act. Back in my playing days we used to dish it out and accept it and that’s an integral part of the game across all levels, including a Sunday morning. I've got no problem at all. I am cool with the situation and I said that to Pat.”

Latest Career Struggles

The forward made 18 games for Leeds in the previous campaign but the former Forest, Chelsea FC and Boro striker has struggled with injury over the past few seasons.
